To discover more about Madagascar we want you to split up into four groups. The groups are discovering the regions, people, culture and animals. As world travelers we would like to know what kind of languages we will need to brush up on, the best map we should buy, how different the regions are so we can pack accordingly, and what kind of animals we will be seeing.

There are five different regions in Madagascar they are: The Central Highlands: we would like you to discover: Antananarivo, the 12 Sacred Hills, Lake Itsay and Antsirabe. The Coast of Virgin Islands: we would like you to discover: Nosy be, Antsiranana, Parc National de Tsinyde Bemaraha and Parc National d' Ankarafantsika. The Coast of Rosewood: we would like you to discover: lle Sainte Marie, Masoala Peninsula, Parc National de Mananara-Nord, Parc National d' Andasibe-Mantadia. The Coast of Contrasts: we would like you to discover: Tollara, Morondava, Reserve Speciale de Beza-Mahafaly and Parc National de l'lsalo. The Capricorn Coast: we would like you to discover: Reserve Pivee de Berenty, Parc National Andringitra and Parc National de Ranomafana. In your group split up to discover each region. Then after discovering each region and attraction, come together to share what you have discovered. After spliting up, click on one of the underlined links from above to start your discovery about the regions in Madagascar!

When discovering more about the people from a different country there are many interesting things to discover. Your group could discover the population, median age, population growth rate, birth rate, death rate, total fertility rate, nationality, ethnic groups, and literacy. To discover more about the culture you will need to find out what kind of music they listen and dance to, what kind of languages they speak, what kind of crops the farmers grow. Your group could also discover what religions they practice, what are the different races, and how far away they are from other countries. In the movies "Madagascar and Madagascar II" there are zebras, lions, penguins, ostrichs, monkeys and hippos. In the real Madagascar you will find reptiles, lemurs, birds, invertebrates, fish, certian mammals and frogs. When discovering reptiles look for how many species are not found anywhere else in the world. Lemurs are said to be "a cat, dog and squirrel cross", read the history of lemurs. Birds are the most beautiful and lovely sounding animals of all. You can discover how many different species there are in Madagascar. Read about the invertebrates and insects, look for the differences and similarities. There are many beautiful fish around the shores of Madagascar, discover if they are threatened. What type of species of frogs are the most popular? Only the best of researchers can answer this question.
